Offer the guy 400 bucks for it, go out, and drive it until it dies. Suspected weaknesses? It's 16 years old, with 235k on it, and is rusted, everything is weak on it. Horsepower? Hah. Those things had 100 hp brand new, by now, you'll be lucky if that motor is making 70. Fuel economy? Could be decent, but it's most likely the the motor is dieing, so it probably won't be great.
My Advice, buy it for 400, drive it into the ground, have fun with it, and when it dies in a year, go donate it to the national kidney foundation, they'll probably give you a 200 dollar tax deduction.

: does anybody think this is a reasonable price? it has 235 500 mi on it a bit of rust no options and it looks very beat up. does any-one know how reliable the engine is? suspected weaknesses? how much horse-power? fuel econom? any suggestions or coments would be great.
