: well, i do drag race sometime just to show those honda guys that bmw is as fast or faster then honda. i also autocross down south once in a while to see have i improve in my skill in cornering. i guess i'm just another riceboys in your eyes. i don't know how old you are or how mature u think you are, but drag racing is fun once in a wild in a safe non traffic enviornment where you can just enjoy the pure power of your car.

: : : Yes, I did say riceboy, they don't just drive Honda's, I've seen plenty of them in e30's too. I love the immature 16 year olds on this board. "Oooh, he doesn't think street racing is cool, he must drive a chevette". Yea, I forgot about that, the Vauxhall badges must have fallen off of my '89 is.

: : : Racing is attempting to shave half a second off of an auto-x run by being a little smoother, racing is working to hit an apex just a little better, to brake later, and get on the power sooner, these things require talent. A brain damaged monkey can "drag race" an automatic at a red light

: : : : : : Gee, great, two underpowered, automatic vehicles decided to have a stoplight drag race, and the heavier, less powerful vehicle lost, wow.

: : : : : : Seriously.."ooh, look guys, I beat a Z3 1.9!", do we need this sort of riceboy crap on the board?

: : : : : : Those that have any talent, take it to a track, those that don't, call it "street racing"

: : : : : : : About 20 minutes ago, I encountered my first race in my 87 325iS(auto). I was at a red light minding my own business and guess what pulls up to me? A 199x BMW Z3 1.9(i could tell by the rims). I wasn't sure if it was manual or not, but it looked like it was an automatic. The guy was probably in his late 20's and he had either his girlfriend or wife in the car. So, here I am, the first car at a red light and this punk has the nerve to point at my car and laugh. I admit the E30 isnt as good looking as the Z3, but come on, aren't we all family? Anyway, so I get pissed off and drop the car into neutral and start revving. He quickly caught my drift. So when the light turns green, we both take off. For some reason, he got the jump off the line, but the 1.9 is no match for the 2.5L inline six. Gradually I start to pick up on him than I hit the sweet spot, 4500+ rpm. Damn my car took off. It looked like he was standing still. 2nd gear, samething. By the time I was at 100mph, he was probably 1 1/2 cars behind me. Not bad for a 13 year old car. I thought I would share it with you guys, and the next time u see a 1.9 Z3, challenge him, you won't be disappointed!

: : : : : : : 1987 325iS (VERY happy with it)

: : : : : there is no reason to bicker at joe, the Z3 guy challenged him. I'm proud that such old cars can beat these newer cars. Hell my 88 M3 challenged a mikrosoft dweeb the other night in an E46 328ci. his gilfriend didn't like the turnout eather. If somebody challenges you, why not accept it? racing is racing.

: : : : He's kind of like the Grinch that stole X-Mas, Ebeneezer Scrooge / Nothing positive to say about anyone or anything individual. Must be a real gem. Would LOVE to see his "ride". Probably a Vette (Chevette) "turbo charged"... Try not to take him personal- you will learn to block him out after a while... Gotta love the "bold black" posts though... O-Well...

: : : : As far as the Z3 goes... That's pretty sweet. Congrats..

: : : : Chris

: : LoL, for the record, I'm 1/2 Asian 1/2 Black, bought my first E30 at 16, and have been in E30's ever since. I too have seen "rice boys" put cheap "tuner" rims on their 325eS/iS slammed to the ground with huge muffler tips, M3 badges etc. etc and I just laugh. It's not an matter of race it's a matter of taste. I'm sure these guys just wanted to have a little fun and have a drag race at the light, that doesn't make them "ricey". Scary thing is alot of "rice boys" who drive Jap cars want to get into BMW's particularly the M3 since it's become so popular among the younger asian crowd (maybe because they've been beaten too many times by M3's). It's a shame but anyone with the money to buy one can get one.

I wasn't putting you down in any way. Just stating that it's a matter of taste and not race.
