way to go for bimmers, this happened to me too, i was in my 1985 stock 325e, when a stock looking honda prelude looked like a 1992 model( the newer 2.3 liter kind). At the red light he started taunting me and so we had to race, he had an automatic( i can tell when i kicked into neutral to rev and intimidate me with his rocket nozzle exhaust). I had a manual, and with 250k miles on the clock!, i dont usually race but i had to, i have been taking car of this car like a baby, too bad it is only worth 3k. When the race started, and the light turned green, i slammed the gas and eased on the clutch. my car with the 2.7 litre ETA engine( good low end power ) screamed to an excellent start, the Honda started a little ahead. We were both going the same speed his car was screaming. Then i changed into second gear, my tires chirped for a second. My tachometer was allways on redline, thats when i pulled away from him, then he changed gears i think, but at the end going 70 miles an hour he pulled from me, he had the sleeker car and the faster rev engine. I did ok for an ETA engine and a 15 year old car.

Cheers to BMW, for an quality car that i never had any trouble with for 5 straight years. yet Still is fast as anything, I am planning to do a lot of performance and body work to it, I will accept suggestions on what i should do.

Congrats,
Jon
