How To Remove Fan! Help! (archive)

I'm in the process of changing my timing belt, tensioner, water pump, etc. and need to get my fan off now...but as I turn the large bolt, the entire unit spins. how do I keep everything tight so that just the bolt loosens itself. Thanks
