NEED HELP WITH 325IX (archive)

Just got my hands on a 325ix, there is only one problem it has a blown engine, well not sure just picked it up at the auction all it say on the paper is that the car is not running, its a 89 with 114k original mile ($800 is not bad)

My question is the engine from the 325i signcant different other than the oil pan, i know it will be impossible to find an engine for this unique car, so i was thinking of buying an I engine and change the different parts.
Any input is greatly apreciate.
