the door lock question you have can best be answered as follows. I would not recommend locking the door using the securuty lock( turned all the way to the right-keyhole horizontal( how you can do this from inside the car has me confused). The only way to open the doors when the security lock is engaged is to turn the key on the drivers side only. the passenger side key will not operate when the security lock is engage. hope this helps. if im not mistaken when pushing down the drivers side door knob only that door should lock or open when pulled up. dot quote me on ths my system is a bit screwy now and i really dont remember how it is to work. good lck with your new bimmer happy crusin
