Make dog gone sure it is the valve that is bad. They get all kinds of crud in them that make them stick. I poured a solvent in, plugged the holes with my fingers, shook well and the black insides turned aluminum again. So try to clean it before you spend your money. Mine had a surging idle irratically would go from 500 to 1500 rpm sometimes stalling. I also found that the wire to the magnetic cylinder position sensor did not have the cover on the timining belt cover to protect it and a fan belt pulley abraded the wire. This cost me a fried Motronic unit ($400 rebuilt). Replacing the Motronic, cleaning the Idle valve and fixing the wire (also installed wire cover) and idle problems went away.
