: Hello fellow bimmerphiles:

: Is it practical to convert a '87 325is automatic to a manual transmission? Any sugestions or explanations would be very helpful. Thanks and happy motoring.

Well i am recently driving my 88 325I 5 sp, but thinking on coverting it to a automatic (crazy you may think),but when you sit in traffic it is not fun to shift 1000000000000000 times and always in the same spot, plus i work standing up all day and my legs are givin up on me.
To convert from auto to 5sp you will need the following:
1- 5SP TRANNY.
2- DRIVE SHAFT.
3- RADIATOR (YOU COULD KEEP THE SAME RAD,BUT NEED TO PLUG THE LINES FROM AUTO TRANNY).
4- SET OF PEDALS.
5- SHIFFTER.
My mechanic quoted me $450.00 for labor, but i will do it myself.
