If this is a 325 with no letter following it (no "e" or "i") Then the car is a 2.7 liter "super" Eta. The Eta is BMW's solution to the need for a sporty yet economical car. In 1988 they upgraded some parts and gave the engine the head for the "i", which made it a little faster, this is known as the "super" Eta. If you are just into performance, than you should probably search for an "i". If you want a strong, reliable, efficient car, the eta is great. I was looking for a 325i, but I found a beautiful 87 325e, and I couldn't resist. I am delighted with my purchase, and I plan on making many upgrades over time. You can find out alot about these cars on the website: http://rikki.coloradocollege.edu/~k_boyce/ Of course, I am only discussing models here, you didn't mention the condition, mileage, or price of the one you are looking at. Check out kbb.com for values. I would be happy to give more advice if you have more questions.
