: hi,,, today the middle of my car between the driver and passenger in da front starrted knocking.... noo...startted banging like it was falling apart when i accelerated out of no where.. what is that the differential.?... i know when i bought it the owner said it had a few teeth missing.... i mean the whole car vibrated like something was broken or not working...and not a little vibrate i'm talking like a earthquake inside my car.. i'm assuming it's the differential any ideas.. in the middle of the car like someone was swinging a bat as hard as they could underneath my car... i have it in a garage.... but wanna search for the part if i can get if for cheap.. thanks.... kam... 86 325 eIt's probably driveshaft related. It would be easier if it were the guibo, also called flex disk or joint disk. However, if your car is an automatic, it probably doesn't have a guibo. Most techs will want to replace the driveshaft rather than replace the center bearing. Rebuilt driveshafts are $450-$600.
