The brakes on my 89 325is are dangerously insufficient and I am not sure whether it is due partially to a system failure or not. When I press on the brake pedal the brake power is ok, but when I press hard once, then press again right after I release the pedal gets very hard, like I do not have power brakes at all. No matter how hard I press the second time, the brakes do not have as much power assist. It feels as though the brake servo does not have enough power to push on the master cylinder hard enough, and that it loses more power the more I pump the pedal. Also, when I first start the car the brakes are weak also, they seem to need to charge up. I looked at the vacuum hose going to the servo, it looks ok. I recently installed SS brake lines, super blue fluid, new x-drill rotors, metal master pads, and 17" wheels with .6" oversize tires. With this set up it is not even possible for me to lock the tires up no matter how hard I try. The car only has 60k easy miles, could the servo be bad this soon? Also the ABS system does not function at all. I have checked the fuse box and the light is not on, anyone know what to look for next?
Thanks for any help, it is no fun to drive a car with bad brakes.
