Chris,
my name is chris too and i also have a 1989 325i. i pulled up my seats to intall some wires. next to where the seat belts rest there are bolts hidden on the side of the acuall seat. first pop up the bottom part by pulling up then pull out just a little. you should be able to the bolts by then and just use the tools that came with car to remove those bolts. good luck
