If it has more than about 50K on it, it has probably been replaced, hopefully w/ the updated part. If not, it will need one and this will be serious money. Other than that, the 318is is not a bad car, you'll just have to rev it to keep up w/ traffic. Some claim it handles better than the 6 cyl car due to the lighter motor. It has the same problems that just about all E30s have.
