: how much performance difference will I see between a 91 318is and a 91 325is. is the performance difference worth the price premium? Thanks

While it has a lot less power than the 325is,
it's only a little slower in a dragrace since it's
a little lighter. The engine is rough and buzzy
compared to the smooth six, and you have to rev
the hell out of it if you want to go fast. It
does handle slightly better due to the lighter
engine (better Front/rear weight distribution).

Problem is they only sold it for one year(U.S.A.) and the Bentley Manual does not cover this car.
I considered buying one new when they first came
out but it accellerated slower than my 85 Golf
GTi and the engine wasn't as smooth as the VWs
either.
