: If there is a leak causing that kinda of level drop, you'll be able to see it. Did you look under the car for evidence of this leak? I.E. drips on the pavement...puddle on the pavement...fresh oil blow back tracks on the under carriage...fresh oil evidence on any part of underside of the engine. Even oil leaking from, let's say the valve cover, will eventually drip down to the pavement if you are losing as much oil as you claim. If you don't see any evidence of a leak, put enough oil in to bring it up to the full mark on the dip stick. Then check it everyday before and after driving until you are satisfied that all is well. If it still drops and there is no evidence of leakage, then you must be burning it.

I had very similar problem with the synthetic oil like yours where the oil level dropped quite quickly. After replacing several gaskets, the problem seems to be resolved but still there is a slight leaking. My guess is that probably like what Neal had said, my car is burning the oils! I m no mechanic so I appreciate if anyone could explain how this phenomenon occurs. I m now changing to regular oils ( temporarily..) but will change back to synthetic in the next oil change.
