Does the Ansa create less back pressure? Does it sound different (higher or lower pitch)?

: I have an 88 325iX and the exhaust is toast. Anyone have suggestions on exhaust systems that aren't going to require maxing out the old Visa? Ansa seems like the bargin so far but I'd love some real world input before I spend the doe.
