: : : : : Hey, I would like any advice/help I can get. I got an 87 325 that is in great shape...only 100,000 and a perfect interior. Where should I start? Wheels, Paint, Engine Mods, Body Mods? What should I do? I am only 19, so any money saving tips would be appreciated

: Hey,
: I am 17 and have a 325iS, I recommend definately going with a suspension and wheels first. Be careful with the wheels though. I have 17x7.5 aluminum wheels on mine which are great at autocrosses but the tires are freakin expensive and the wheels bend easily - I bent one badily when I blew a tire going 80mph on the freeway. On these cars an the usual exhaust/intake/chip combo works pretty well but if you go with the chip then you are probably going to have to run premium fuel. On the subject of the suspension I recommend 1.5" drop in the front and a 1.75" in the rear with stiff springs and anti-roll bars but relatively soft shocks. Another good suspension upgrade would be a front strut brace.....I got a noticable improvement in handling with that little piece. I have also replaced the stock interior with one from an M3 as it does not cost too much but looks and feels great.
: Good Luck,

Hey all thanks for the good advice...I will definitely start with the wheels and suspension now. I think next will be the exhaust and headers? What do you all think? Any specific brands to use would be helpful too. I plan on having this car forever.
