Tire choice for 325is? (archive)

Recently got a 87 325is. Has the stock alloys, and
has Michelin MXV4 tires in 195-60-14. They have lots
of tread, but I am not pleased with the handling. I
feel like they are limiting the car, they screech at
anything and break loose in corners, yet the suspension
feels tight.

What should I replace them with? I do NOT want to
change the wheels, but I do want to move up to
205-60-14. I don't need a race tire, and I am somewhat
concerned about wear life. Dunlop D60A2 JLBs are very
cheap and seem to get good ratings. Will they stick
better than my Michelins do? Other suggestions?
thanks.

Mike
