325ic's Battery Keeps Draining (archive)

I recently bought an '89 325ic with some minor problems:

1. Battery drains down to nothing if you leave the car sit for 3 days.

2. Tach doesn't work. Every once in a while, it'll bounce up very infrequently. The previous owner had an electronics technician replace the battery on the board and that's when the problem started. Should I just spend the money for a new board? Could this be related to the battery problem?

3. OBC light is burned out. I read somewhere that you have to take the center dash apart and replace a board with two soldered-in lights, but when I went to a BMW dealer, they said the 'computer' calls for two individual lights that go in like a normal dash light. Before I take the dash apart, I'd like to know what to expect and fix it right the first time.
