Broken brake pad sensor? (archive)

I just changed my front brake pads. Attached to one brake pad was a low brake pad sensor. It had a loop of wire attached to the notch in the pad with a small porcelin or plastic holder. In trying to pry the holder out of the notch, it broke.

What to do? I can't imagine I have to replace the whole sensor assembly because this plastic holder must be worn through before the sensor will be triggered. So, after the sensor is triggered there has to be an easy way to replace the plastic holder. Any suggestions? ('87 325is)
