Hi everyone, Im new here. My name is Scott Findley and I am currently the owner of a '73 BMW 2002. It is my first car (unless you count the 84 honda accord that I inherited in high school, I dont) and I love (loved) it. Unfortunatly my parked '02 was crunched, and it really makes more sence for me to just keep the money and sell it at a low price.

For my next car, I pretty much have my heart set on either an e30 318is or 325is. I loved the '02 but I now understand the alure of modern amenities. many people say that the 318is is the modern day bretheren of the 2002. unfortunatly for me I have become quite the bimmerphile :) particularly older and smaller, more performance oriented ones (hence the attraction to the '02) I got no love for anything newer than the e30.

So what I want to know is are there any reasons I should not buy one? am I going to lose an arm and a leg on maintinance? anything I should look out for when purchasing? Different years better than others (I do know that the engine was changed in 92 if Im not mistaken) Im a younger guy (20) and I would say that my financial resources are significantly lower than that of your typical BMW driver stereotype. :)

Thanx for any/all help you can offer in the matter! you can e-mail me privatly or post a message to this list.

-Scott
