: : : i've replaced the fuse and the motor is fine. the question is, can i just replace the mast even though i've cut the cable? thanks.
: : I believe you do get a new cable with the antenna mast.

: you're right; got a new mast and it has a cable. Here's the problem now. after i replace the fuse, the small pice of cable remaining was wound back into the antenna motor. When I insert the new cable, and turn off the radio to retract the antenna, the motor winds the new cable, but the antenna does not fully retract. I assume it's because there's some of the old cable in the motor. Any ideas on how to get that piece of old cable out of the motor so that the new antenna fully retracts. TIA.
I've not done this so I'm not sure if it'll work.. this is just a common sense approach. Take off the new mast with it's cable. Turn on the stereo so the old cable is extended - remove it. Replace the whole thing with the new mast and you'll be good to go. Hopefully it's that easy.
