When I insert the new cable, and turn off the radio to retract the antenna, the motor winds the new cable, but the antenna does not fully retract. I assume it's because there's some of the old cable in the motor. Any ideas on how to get that piece of old cable out of the motor so that the new antenna fully retracts. TIA.

: I've not done this so I'm not sure if it'll work.. this is just a common sense approach. Take off the new mast with it's cable. Turn on the stereo so the old cable is extended - remove it. Replace the whole thing with the new mast and you'll be good to go. Hopefully it's that easy.

thanks for the reply. i' tried that, the antenna motor whirrs for 12 secs. or so but the old cable doesn't extent out of the mounting hole. I guess i need to pull out the trunk panel and take out the motor to get out that piece of cable. Anybody?
