Ok, so should I get a 318is or a 325is? (archive)

Hey, you may remember me from such threads as "e30 the car for me?" :) thanx for the info. so now my dilemma is - which car, 318is or 325is?

of course the extra horsepower would be nice, but does the extra weight of a 6cyl adversley effect the handling? Im much more interested in handling than flat out HP.

Also in terms of maintance, Im probablly going to spend significantly more with a 6cyl, no? plus gas..

Im a bit partial to 4 bangers because of the relitively cheap maintance, gas consumption etc. 138hp doesnt sound grossly underpowered to me personally, and Ive had a ton of fun with my '02 which only puts out a pathetic 105 hp. like I said, handling is much more important to me.

oh yes, correct me if Im wrong.. the iS series includes a multivalve engine that puts out more hp than a stock 318i, right?

one last thing before I sign off - is there an e-mail list or digest that is dedicated to the e30?
