: Hey, you may remember me from such threads as "e30 the car for me?" :) thanx for the info. so now my dilemma is - which car, 318is or 325is?
: of course the extra horsepower would be nice, but does the extra weight of a 6cyl adversley effect the handling? Im much more interested in handling than flat out HP.

The 6 cylinder engines don't add enough weight that it makes the car ANY less balanced or heavy feeling. Maybe if you're name is Michael Shumacher you could tell, if you paid really close attention, but I doubt it. Mileage is still great in the 325iS, I recommend you go that route. I think the 6 cylinder engines are more solid. That whole timing case profile gasket thing is a major PITA.
