Thanks for the tips, Steve! The owner was going to put a new muffler on, since the original one is perforated, but luckily she is just giving me a $360 credit instead. So I'm going to take your advice and put the Tri-Flow on there, since in my mind I'm only paying an additional $540 for it; then I'll do a K&N and a chip a little later. I will also have to put in an Oxygen Sensor, and I read someplace that I ought to probably change the timing belt too.... hmmm, the $$ is flying....
What about wheels - any recommendations on size and or particular model? What does this thing have on it now, 15's? (I haven't even picked up the car yet. I'm supposed to get it tonight, but I'm waiting for a call from the seller...)Do you know of anybody who has ever autocrossed one of these? If so, how does it do?
John
: Hi John, the three basic upgrades are intake/chip/exhaust. I, personally, really like the B&B Tri-Flow exhausts. They're pricey but the sound is unmatched (too loud for some). A Jim C. chip is the best way to go IMHO. A simple upgrade to a K&N cone filter works well with the other two. However, don't expect any magical performance gains off one or the other. The three work well TOGETHER.
: If you want to get into supercharging it I suggest you nix that idea and just do an engine conversion. Zionsville autosport can put a M50 engine into your car or tell you how you can.
