I believe that the theoretical red line limit for the auto is higher than 140 (at 80 I think my wifes is running around 3000 rpm), the problem is they don't have the horsepower to pull it in stock form.

: I don't think it is. I have always been told its top speed it about 130, and it would certainly be near the red then. Can someone verify this? No offense intended Phil.


: : Last Night me and a buddy were traveling on a local highway when someone decided to race me-I own a 89 325is that has been faithful for 3 years now-well anyways, as I was approaching the 130 mile an hour point all of a sudden the car felt like it went to nuetral and the rpm needle went all the way past 7 grand-now this has never happened before and I have had the car to 140 miles an hour at 5800 rpm and been just fine-any ideas because I have none-by the way the car is an automatic.TIA
