: I went to my usual speed shop, where the manager told me that now that the E30s are dirt cheap, lots of kids Pizza delivery boys type) with no money buy them for the Badge on the hood and then discover how expensive it is to modify one compared to modifying a Civic or other Rice burner.
: Which brings me to that new crowd. Not wanting to generalize, but the sport compact crowd steal each others. They will steal a friend’s car to sell the wheels to another friend living in another city. This is a very different crowd preying on each other. And now they are byuing Bimmers, and are invading a very honest and open message board. Have you noticed how the tone has changed for the past year? Most people are gentle, but some are...
: Aren’t we in deep shit.
What's up?i am only 17 and a filipino so i am almost always generalized as a "riceboy" just because i like cars. that really pisses me off sometimes. i will admit that i too liked hondas and acuras etc. not because everyone else does but because it is actually very easy to make some of them VERY fast with little money. some of there ARE fast out of the box-VTEC integras civics and GSX eclipes. but as i am also a true car enthusiast, i realized that rear drive is the way to go. and after driving a BMW i experienced the meaning of the "ultimate driving machine". Most of the people i hang with ask"why drive that pos(87 325 5 speed with alot of primered spots) when you have a Solara". i picked my car up as a project even though i drive my Bimmer alot more than my Solara. Just to alleviate some stress, there is just one young guy here that is not into cars just for the attention, or to drive around reclining in my seat, trying to look like a bad ass in a cheap automatic DX honda that tries to look fast with ghetto stickers and race everyone at the stoplight. i have no problems with these people because they make me laugh.(especially when some of them are nearly in their 30's). I hope there are more people like me out there that fix their cars not for "show" or "dragging" or whatever but for myself. so i don't want any big ugly Super supra wings, huge speedshop stickers except my little CCA stick, ugly chrome trim, huge 18 in rims that weigh 30 lbs and keep you from driving where there are 90 degree turns, and cut springs. the only cosmetic cues i want are an IS front and rear spoiler, dark mettalic silver paint, lowered with eibachs +bilsteins, and 16 in BBS RX's. other than that, all motor- and completely restored with all new parts. I just swapped my rack for an E36 rack. I will replace old parts with performance parts as they break. maybe a 2.5l M50 motor when i'm old and grey.
what i'm trying to say is that there are some young people out there that happen to buy E30's for the same reasons you("adults" i guess?) do such as myself. that's it. later
