Hi all, Over the last 25 years, I have developed a rule about the cars I drive. " It must do what I ask it to do" It doesn't matter what the name is on the hood, it must meet my expectations. Honda makes an incredible engine, but lacks in a number of intangible areas. Audi has a good reputation, but the feel is a little off for me. I like bumdubluu's because they provide a balance between handling and performance that is far out front. My favorite car is a Peugeot 505, very underpowered, but man, you gotta drive one.
My wife owns a previa wagon and I have never liked it regardless of the durability and power of the 2.4 liter four banger.
The bmw is under attach not from the general market but by owners who buy one only for the badge, not for what it is. We must remember that it is only a car, not an identity.

: My link to BMW dates back to the early sixties when I father had to choose between a BMW 2000 CS and a Mercedes 220S. He picked the Benz... My first has been a 320, I had 3 and now hate them. I actually have a mint 2002 racecar, a Euro 635 with Metric Mechanic’s 4 litre engine, a Euro Hartge E30 H23, and a 533i for winter. I have always owned Bimmers and always will, even though I am sometimes septic on Bimmer engineering.

: I went to my usual speed shop, where the manager told me that now that the E30s are dirt cheap, lots of kids Pizza delivery boys type) with no money buy them for the Badge on the hood and then discover how expensive it is to modify one compared to modifying a Civic or other Rice burner.

: Which brings me to that new crowd. Not wanting to generalize, but the sport compact crowd steal each others. They will steal a friend’s car to sell the wheels to another friend living in another city. This is a very different crowd preying on each other. And now they are byuing Bimmers, and are invading a very honest and open message board. Have you noticed how the tone has changed for the past year? Most people are gentle, but some are...

: Aren’t we in deep shit.
