: if i purchased a forged crank would i be able to install it myself? also do they tend to wear out at all? i am thinking about changing my crank to a forged one in my eta but if its too much of a hassle then forget about it.

It requires quite a bit of work. You have to at least lift the engine, as far as I know. It's not necessary unless your engine is highly modified or your crank had a problem. And even if it had a problem, I'd just replace it with a stock cast crank.
