i have an 86 325e with an auto transmission. i was going to do the 325i cam/valve spring swap(already purchased cam), got a complete 325i exhaust headers back(purchased), and i was planning on buying a 325i intake manifold and throttle body also. i was arranging a purchase of a 3.25 differential also.

i didnt see the e36 yet but my father saw it(318ti) and said its in perfect condition. its a 95 with 56k on it, red with cloth interior. it is also an automatic. what i want to know is which would be faster? which handles better? are 318ti's quick at all(anyone know horsepower, 0-60 times, etc)? if youve driven both how do you think they compare? would it just be better to upgrade the engine in my 325e instead of getting the 318? i am in college right now and my dad already bought my 325e and said that hed help me with the buying of the ti if i wanted it. i would have to make partial payments though so i need to make the right decision.
