My experience at brake lining light and brake overhaul is this. Did the same thing. Archives tell me the light stays on until a few thousand miles are driven. (straneg) but my light come on sporatically for the last 5000 miles so I just chalk my experence to a flaky, tempermental dash. I remember turning it off by flipping the temp. dial from coldest to the 9:00 o'clock and back very quickly. Indications that gremlins are at work. It mostly stays out now and since I have new brakes all around I simply ignore it. (for now). It is annoying. but IO live with it.
