: I finally gained some funds and will be putting some money into the betterment of my car. I have an 87 325 (Eta base model). I want to get a JimC Chip and a LSD, but I think I should replace the stock shocks and springs with some lowered sport ones, as my ride is pretty bouncy know and I think the suspension is going. I know everyone has a different opinion, but please tell me if you believe you know the best ones to use. Should I try to find some used ones, or is it better to buy new? I am ready to sacrifice some of the luxury for a harsher ride, no problem, but I don't want to go crazy with it, because some of the bumps around here are hard to avoid. Another thing: I think the clutch is also on its way out. It just feels worn and long, but it still drives fine. Do you have any idea how much it will cost to just replace the clutch plate? I would rather not do this right away, but if I put it off am I doing any damage other than wearing the plate down further? If I replace it, do I need to get one that will tolerate the extra horsepower I will gain from the chip and diff? I appreciate any other help you have to give me regarding this great campaign to make my car the best it can be with the money I have to spend.

I put some 'is' front struts and M3 rear shocks with M3 springs front and rear and this was a great combination. It lowered it about an inch and the ride firmed up nicely without getting to hard. This is on an 85 325e. I also put an itg air filter right on the end of the AFM and used a Dinan chip with excellent results. Hope you find the combo that works for you.
