My 84 325e has 330,685 miles. I have replaced the water pump and timing belt three times. The head has never been off, and I just replaced the clutch last month. I would have no hesitation to drive it from LA to New York tomorrow. As for maintenance, I change the oil and filters twice a year. Maybe I am just lucky, but I have had EXCELLENT experience with my 325. My 91 525i has almost 150k and is still going strong. Good luck.

: I have found a beautiful 1990 325is here in Dallas, but it has 165k on the clock. I know my 325es has 169k on the clock, and is like brand new, but can I expect 250k+ out of a well maintained 325i engine also? One more thing while I have your attention.....this 325is I'm looking at has a leaky trunk(water in the jack well), has anyone else had this problem? If so, how do I fix it?
