: I have found a beautiful 1990 325is here in Dallas, but it has 165k on the clock. I know my 325es has 169k on the clock, and is like brand new, but can I expect 250k+ out of a well maintained 325i engine also? One more thing while I have your attention.....this 325is I'm looking at has a leaky trunk(water in the jack well), has anyone else had this problem? If so, how do I fix it?

Check out the technical section of this site concerning your water leak. I have the same thing and it can come from a couple of different spots: 1. the antenna grommet, and; 2. The trunk lid seal. The problem on my car seems to be related to the lid seal. When I park my car pointed downhill, water will collect and overflow the lid seal, flow into the trunk, and eventually into the passenger compartment and puddling the rear floor carpet. I have replaced the lid seal, but that didn't work, so these days I just park the car on flat ground or uphill whenever it looks like rain. Let me know how you do.
