I've seen a lot of folks asking questions about what gear ratio to use in their cars and how it will effect the drivability of their cars. Here is one great tool to help you calculate your rpm/speed in gears. All 6-cylinder 325 models came equipped with the Gertrag 260 transmissions with the following ratios:
1st - 3.83
2nd - 2.20
3rd - 1.40
4th - 1.00
5th - 0.81
Reverse - 3.46

Just enter in your tire size and differential ratio of choice
and the web site will give you your rpm/speed data.
