i have a haynes manual & it says .012. my car has original engine with 200,000 plus miles & runs smooth. are you rotating the crank to tdc of each piston before you adjust each valve? sometimes on the plug that goes into the idle control valve the wires will come loose inside.the plug case comes apart to check con.hope it helps.325es86
