HELP!! Clutch pedal on floor (archive)

Hey all, I gave my mother my 87 325e to drive for the summer, (now I have a z3) and she was driving the other day and when she stepped on the clutch pedal it never came back up from the floor,,,,,is there a spring or a pin that possibly fell out?????? help she lives at the other end of Mass, I am out near Boston, long drive (but not with the z)
