: Anyone have an idea what has happened? The car was running fine, and it sat up for 3 mos.,and all I've got now is reverse. The entire transmission fluid was changed on a tech 2000 machine&filter cleaned 2years ago and its been driven less than 6,ooo miles since that time. Any suggestions? ----Stuck in the driveway.

If it's an automatic, was somebody revving the engine while the car was in neutral while
trying to blow the cobbwebs out of the exhaust?
If so, it ruined the transmission. ZF automatics
cannot be revved in neutral like american cars
can, and it will blow the tranny. It's happened
several times to my friend who owns a high-end
used car lot for European cars. Customer revs the
engine in neutral during the test drive, and the
car will no longer move. He watches them much
closer now and does not allow them to do this !!

You guys with automatic transmissions - don't rev
your engines in neutral nor let any mechanics or
smog testers rev it during the testing !!
