: Hi,
: Planning to buy a used 318-i in Boston, MA. Any experiences with BMW in snow and winters. Does the traction control and LSD help? Please help me make a decision.
: thank in advance

My wife drove a car with traction control and it was okay in the snow. I drive an iX which (being all wheel drive) does fine. You're going to hear that e30's with snow tires are okay in the winter but I have to disagree. I've only driven the 325is in snow and maybe the 318 is better because it has less torque but I'm hear to tell you the 325 is scarey on snow and ice. Traction control wasn't available until 94 so no e30 had it. You'll have to pony up the big bucks for an e36 if you want it. If you get an e30 318 get a set of snow and ice tires for winter, put 150lbs. of sand bags in it, carry a cell phone and a toe rope and hangon!!

good luck
