Most of the stuff sounds like reasonable choices to me but some things wont do.

: H&R Coil Over suspension

Not allowed in stock class, only Prepared and above.

: BMP Body Kit

I don't think this is allowed in stock class, but I could be wrong about this.

: Carbon fiber hood

Not allowed, even in BMW CCA Prepared class -- It would put you in Modified class.

Remember, the minimum weight for a BMW CCA "Stock" 325iS is over 2800lbs! You really can't take much weight off of the car.

: Momo type 78 steering wheel

I think the stock wheel is pretty good.

There will be plenty of things you have to spend money on before you go replacing perfectly good parts. You will need to replace almost every piece of structural rubber on the car before you are done (bushings, guibo, center bearing etc). What kind of shape are the control arms in? Any leaks from the steering rack, oil pan gasket or gearbox tail seal? The list is endless, and as soon as you think you've replaced everything that could need replacing you'll find something else that isn't up to snuff, but that's racing :)

Don't forget to budget for the rest of you safety equipment! Kill switch, fire extinguisher etc.

If you'd like to discuss it more, I work in Reston and sometimes drive my '87 325iS track car to work.

Joel
