help with OBC draining battery!!! (archive)

Greetings Bimmerhead Friends!

My son's '87 325is recently tried to flatten a concrete curb....the fun never ends!!!! now that the oil pan and new oil pump, etc, are on, we are working on repairing the air dam....but I noticed that the OBC is "ON" even when the key is turned off!!!!! as soon as I turn the key on and then off again it goes out, but after a few seconds it comes back on....now, the battery is going dead!!!! I'm not sure if the OBC is draining the battery or the battery is dying and the OBC is sensing this and the circuitry is amiss or something...everything has always worked...instruments, and all power options...what can this be? Any thoughts? Thanks,
