Andyman,

Behind the radio is a hose that controls the recirculate air flap, and it is controled by vacume line. What happened was that you might have unhocked it while playing with the radio. As for the A/C not working, it could be low on charge and the only way it would be cold is by recirculating.

: My air condtioning on my 87 325 was working fair. It would take a little while to get cold but it would work. I tried the air today and it didn't work at all and I'm hearing a air leaking sound from under the dash when I hit the air button. It's a faint sound and I'm not sure if it was always there or not.

: The switch seems to be working because it still puts a slight drag on the engine when I turn it on. The only thing I did was change the radio. I thought maybe I could have knocked off a wire or somthing but I pulled the radio out and didn't see anything I could have knocked off.

: Could it have just all of a sudden ran out of freon? Any ideas what it could be?
