Advice on pre-owned 1987-93 325ci (archive)

After visiting Germany this summer, I have decided to replace my weekend cruiser wreck (Mini Van blew a stop sign and totalled my near mint 1971 VolvoP1800e) with a BMW 87-93 Low miles super clean 5 speed Convertible. I'm sure I will pay a premium but that's ok if reasonable(whatever that is). 1991 is my target year. I am looking for expert advice as to what problems to look for and avoid or if any years should be avoided/preferred. Looking forward to becoming a BMW owner.
