87 325 windshield trim question (archive)

I've been looking at an 87 325 for sale that's in pretty nice shape, but one thing sticks out like a sore thumb. There is a plastic trim piece that is part of the front and rear winshield gaskets that is very discolored (brown).Any cure for this? expensive or difficult to replace? how about painting it black?
