I've been looking at an 87 325 for sale that's in pretty nice shape, but one thing sticks out like a sore thumb. There is a plastic trim piece that is part of the front and rear winshield gaskets that is very discolored (brown).Any cure for this? expensive or difficult to replace? how about painting it black?

The replacement trim is pretty inexpensive from the dealer. You can get the original chrome trim or the later model black trim, whichever you prefer. There is a special installation tool with a triangular loop at the end which "rolls" the trim back into the rubber windshield holder. It makes for a quick job with the right tool. Spray a lot of WD40 or use soapy solution to make installation easier. Tip: Don't take out the metal pieces that join the ends of the trim. It's much easier not having to put those back in last. Just slide new trim into them.
