I had this happen to my '85 325e two months ago. I took it to the dealer thinking that it was a faulty drive shaft sensor. Turns out the dealer put the speedo on their test rig and it was a fauly speedo. They replaced it for me. Now my '85 325 shows it has 1700 miles.
