Hello everyone... sorry for coming into all this discussion late but I've been out of town. I leave for 5 days and miss all the fun, oh well.
Richard you asked about my engine conversion. Well, things are looking good. I've sent another check to pay for the machine shop costs and after the work is completed - my engine will be put back together and await my final payment before being shipped. After that I'm gonna trailor it down to Knoxville and some BMWCCA buddies are gonna help me install it at this guy's shop. That's another $900 for the engine plus a couple beers in exchange for those chapter buddies helping me. Round up to make sure things are covered and figure in the cost of 3 auxiliary guages for a console panel... let's say $1150 total.

Mr. Adjuster Sir - sounds like you have quite a case on your hands. I suggest you not only look into the value of the parts that were in the car but also look into the value of the LABOR that it required to complete all of that work! Alot of us DIY guys spend hours with our cars. As you well know, time is money.

So as you may have guessed I'm buying and installing a customized engine from a fellow enthusiast. You can tell by this picture of his car

that he's an avid enthusiast. But that's off topic... so once the new engine is installed and everything is back in order what should I do? This is my first car and I'm not very experienced with insurance things. Do I go down to my agent's office, take him out to lunch, along the way pull some g's and show him what the new car can do, and scare him into up'ing my premium $3k? ;-) Seriously, I'd love to hear from you. My email address is provided and this all I'm talking about is some friendly chatting amongst fellow enthusiasts.

Best regards,
Steve
