The 2.7 eta engine has a 84mm and 81mm bore and stroke.

The 325i has it at 84mm x 75mm.

You could use an Eta bottom end with special pistons, mate that block to an i head to get your 2.7.

Metric Mechanic even increases the bore to make the engine a 2.8

Lee's absolutely right. I'm doing a 2.7i conversion and here's where people are confused. It's not a 2.5liter stroked to 2.7l. It's a 2.7liter reconfigured to 325i specs. You *can* get 2.7liters of displacement out of a 325i engien but it's alot of work and reliability is a big issue.
