Hi
I have a 1989IX and i found that the car is really high off the ground
What i sfirst did was cutting the front springs
one and 1/2 turns just like Gordon did.
The car looked great and handling was better.
Then i decided to cut another half turn for a complete 2 turn cut.
Then i installed regular i rear springs with regular rear shocks also from a 325IS 1987

Now it looks even better and handling is great It lowered the car quite a bit to a normal 325i
at a minimum cost.
Syl...

I'm pretty happy with the way my 325ix handles bone stock, but there is just too big of a front fenderwell gap for my liking. There is almost no gap in the rear. Anyways, it's not too easy to find a set of decent lowering springs for an ix. I've been thinking of taking a coil or two off the front stock springs along with new struts. I always thought this was a really bad thing to do, but Gordon from the ix registry did it and he doesn't seem to be complaining. I was hoping to get some input or experiences from some of you to help me in my decision. I'm apprehensive about cutting the springs, but if a bunch of you say it's caused no problems, then I'll probably do it. Thanks in advance:)
